CREATE
1. 1 person. Create a
book report using one of the paper folding activities listed on the site below.
Make sure to include details from the book and add illustrations to your
project.

2. 2 people. Bag a book
report: Decorate a bag or box with something to represent the novel. Fill the
bag with 5 items that describe the novel and explain why. Include a 3 paragraph
response essay inside or attached to your bag.
3. 1-2 people. Jess
loved to draw, create 3-4 drawings that you would imagine Jess creating during
the events of the novel. Include a one paragraph description to go along with
each drawing, narrated by Jess.
TECHNOLOGY
4. 1-2 people. Create a
book trailer for your
novel using Animoto,
Photostory, or Windows Movie Maker. Include details from the story but do
not spoil the ending. Watch book trailers on other novels to give you ideas.
5. 1-2 people. Create a
children’s book of your favorite scene or summarize the novel using StoryJumper, or drawn by hand.
6. 1-2 people. Use Prezi
to create a slideshow describing briefly the author, time period, theme,

WRITING
7. 1-2 people. Create
another chapter or ending for your novel. Be creative. Think about how
the characters act and/or feel. (If you
include drawings you can have a group of 2).
8. 1 person. Blog
as Jess: Pretend that Jess wrote daily blog entries during his friendship with
Leslie. Write 5-6 entries describing how he felt when they first met, as they
became closer, and dealing with his range of emotion at the end.
ACTING
9. 2 people. Construct
puppets and present a show of one of the events in the novel.
10.
2-3
people. Based on the information in the book, reconstruct a scene from the
novel. Include people and other details in your display.
